Greenwood Village is a beautifully balanced mixture of lush open spaces and a vibrant business sector. When you stroll through the quiet trails here, shaded by trees born in the 18th century and realize that you are a mile from office space housing some of Colorado's biggest power players, you wonder how Greenwood Village managed all this. Management being the key word.

The homes here are sprawling, often ranch style or bi/tri-level and on larger lots. The trend towards more contemporary designs keeps the area updated and fresh, but the large lots are staying the same size. And some of Colorado's most innovative builders and architects are joining forces in this community to produce breathtaking homes of uncompromising quality.

Greenwood Village is home to a vast array of services to its citizens. From the Curtis Arts & Humanities Center, a restored antique building that houses arts and activities for Villagers, such as drop-in Senior fitness classes, to the inter-generational art classes that incorporate school children and members of the community, to a wide array of youth programs. The Goose Chase is an annual walk / ride / bike benefitting local charities that help children and families and others.

Among the other numerous highlights of community life here are the 4th of July parade, Greenwood Village Day and the Mayor's traditional holiday lighting. Greenwood Village's Westlands Park, consistently voted one of Denver Metro's best parks by local reviews, a sprawling complex of everything from swings and slides to rock climbing and nature exploration that will delight all age groups.

By all means, indulge and dine out in Greenwood Village. You'll enjoy choosing a favorite between Brooks steakhouse, where the escargot appetizer to the crepes with berries merely surround their incredible steaks; and Del Frisco's where the most amazing crab cakes and prime beef may win your vote.

This lovely place, Greenwood Village, has come far -- but yet not so far -- from it's past as a summer colony for Denverites many decades ago. It's still a retreat, and horses may sometimes have the right-of-way, but Greenwood Village has found its own sense of city.
