Berkeley Park neighborhoods are truly comprised of gem after gem...and I'm not talking just about the homes, which are truly charming. Most homes are brickfronts, with lovely tended front lawns and detached garages. Neighborhoods are lined with gigantic old shade trees and as you walk around there are residents on the porches, visiting and watching children playing.
Neighborhoods here are just a walk away from excellent dining, art shops, interesting boutiques, several black box movie theatres, shopfronts like old-fashioned barber shops with the cool old chairs, and a real hardware store that does not say Home Depot on it!
Of course the real walk or ride is to the namesake park, Berkeley Lake Park, which is home to fishing, trails, playground, soccer and softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, the Scheibler Recreation Center and the Library. Nearby is the Willis Case golf course, which Frommer's names "spectacular" because of its Mountain Views. Rocky Mountain Lake Park, with its flower gardens, picnic area and horseshoe pit make it a favorite for getting friends and family together for some enjoyable afternoons.
At the southernmost area of the neighborhoods (which are officially 38th Avenue, city limits, Sheridan and Federal per the Berkeley Neighborhood Association) you will find a glorious souvenir of Old Elitch Gardens, a pavillion park.
Have fun at Art Walk events here and get to know the shopowners. You will always find a good bite to eat in the neighborhood - try Sabor Latino, Brickyard Barbeque or Amadeo's Italian - although my favorite are the amazing tamales at La Casita!
I have important brand new market information about this neighborhood available. gnore the talk about bubbles bursting and a receding Real Estate market. As you read this, homeowners are enjoying homes here that are appreciating in double-digit numbers each year.
It would be my pleasure to help you to locate to Berkeley or to market your home to someone who would love to live here. You can reach me right away at (720) 275-3926 or leave a message with your research requests at (303) 850-1841.
